In poker, a wrap is a type of straight draw that’s common in Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO). A wrap happens when you hold three or more cards in your hand that connect to the board in a way that gives you multiple ways to make a straight—more than a regular straight draw would.
Wraps are powerful because they give you a lot of outs (cards that can complete your straight). In some cases, a wrap can give you up to 20 outs, compared to just 8 with an open-ended straight draw in Texas Hold’em.
Wraps don’t exist in Hold’em because you only get two hole cards. They’re unique to games where you’re dealt four hole cards, like Omaha.
Wraps are one of the reasons Omaha is known for big draws and big swings. They can be deceptive and dangerous, especially if you’re up against a higher wrap or redraw.
