Aces Up is a poker hand that means two pair, where aces are the higher pair. The second pair can be anything—twos, kings, eights—but as long as you have a pair of aces and one other pair, it counts as Aces Up.
The full name is “Aces Up with [second pair]”, though many players just say “Aces Up” or “Aces Over.” This hand beats any two pair with a lower top pair, like “Kings Up” or “Tens Up,” but it still loses to three of a kind or better.
The term is more common in stud games or old-school poker slang, but it’s still used in modern play to describe strong two-pair hands.
It’s a nice hand in many situations, especially if the board is dry (not many scary draws), but not quite a monster.
